is "old" or "ancient tower" - this is to be found
on the north side of the town overlooking the sea. Originally a Moorish
defence, now recently restored with gardens laid around.
28 miles south of Alicante and 10 minutes to the north of Cabo Roig,
Torrevieja caters for all tastes with a long seafront promenade of
restaurants, cafes and
bars, an aqua park, go-cart tracks and much more to entertain the visitor.Torrevieja
boasts one of the largest street markets in Spain and every Friday
people come from miles around to pick up a bargain or to buy their
fruit and vegetables fresh from the farm. Each
evening, close to the port, you will find the craft market where you
can buy handmade jewellery or maybe some carved art from Africa or
even some leather goods at a fraction of the price you pay at home.
The indoor market is open daily for fish, fruit, vegetables and fresh meat
and is situated in the centre of town. |
